Social media has grown faster in the nonprofit and fundraising sector than any other marketing medium before it, largely because it’s accessible and usually cost effective as an outreach medium. But are you just tacking on social media to your current marketing plan – or worse, ONLY doing social media? The way to get the most out of social media is to fully integrate it into your marketing, public relations, donor outreach and more. Jessica Best, strategic consultant and community director at Emfluence, discusses how to integrate social media effectively and provides examples of nonprofits who have done it well.

Jessica Best is one part massive email, social media and online marketing nerd and one part permission-marketing evangelist. She acts as a strategic consultant and social media strategy marketing expert for local and national brands and nonprofits, as well as some of Kansas City’s own marketing associations, like the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association. She’s presented for audiences from Wichita to New York City to SXSW in Austin, all in the name of helping marketers and communicators better understand social media. Jessica’s primary role is as Community Director for Emfluence, implementing the best practices she preaches for Emfluence’s own marketing strategy.
