The Mid-America Planned Giving Council (MAPGC) helps local fund development and estate planning professionals learn to improve and maintain their charitable gift planning skills while providing a unique environment to get to know the people and issues that impact planned giving in the Greater Kansas City area.
MAPGC is a Member Council of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) and subscribes to its Model Standards of Practice. Formed by local planned giving professionals who wanted to educate the public and nonprofits about the benefits of planned giving, MAPGC participated in the planning and formation of the National Committee on Planned Giving (now CGP) in 1988, and Kansas City hosted the Fourth Annual National Conference in 1991. Today, MAPGC’s membership includes more than 100 professionals from the Kansas City area and surrounding region.
MAPGC encourages dialogue among donors, professional advisors, and charity
representatives. In addition to monthly programs, we also sponsor the Annual Building Blocks of a Planned Giving Conference, a half-day program is designed to present information useful to those wanting to know more about planned giving. The Council also sponsors virtual seminars and other programs for fundraising and allied professionals with related organizations throughout the area.
MAPGC typically meets the second Friday of every month from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Sept – May with registration and continental breakfast for the first half hour, followed by a presentation delivered by a local, regional or national presenter on a subject of interest to you.
